I learned to appreciate and love vintage decor and furniture from my friend Jeanette. I met this "passionate-for-all-things-worn" lady and her husband a few years ago at her pretty shop in Old Town Murrieta named Jeanette's Cottage . I was enchanted by the beauty of everything inside the store- vintage English teacups and plates, French enamel teapots, old and distressed furniture, cottage chairs-everything exuding the charm and beauty of the old and the distressed.

Then she invited me to her lovely home- a cottage filled with vintage treasures and surrounded by hundreds of distressed and worn furniture and decor in a quarter acre property. I was in wonderland! I also learned that she sells at the Long Beach Flea Market.

Jeanette and her husband later moved to France and in the busyness of our lives, we have lost contact. I am sure she is living her dream of a romantic and inspired life. But what she left me was a lasting treasure- a discovery of my own passion and love for vintage and some very charming pieces.
