~Sweet And Not So Shabby~

I think there's nothing sweeter and even more luscious than the pale
floral prints in pastel color that inspired the shabby chic world.
Soft and delicate, it touches the mellower side of me.

Dressing the Bed Shabby Chic

I have an eclectic vintage/traditional style home {I think}, my decor having evolved from French country style look-alike to vintage-traditional. But my love for bed sheets with floral prints and pastel colors  {Simply Shabby Chic by Rachel Ashwell} always draws me to decorate my bedroom in the shabby chic style.
White walls, sheets and pillowcases in floral dreamy pastel colors made of 250-thread pure cotton, and my favorite display items like vintage plates and picture frames- all meet my requirements for  deep sleep. I have also seen the beauty and allure of unmade bed so I enjoy the room in any condition it is in.
Right now, I am trying to incorporate shabby chic touches to my once traditional bedroom.

Here are some inspirations for  shabby chic dreams.

Rachel Ashwell's Venice Cottage

I'm sure images of Rachel Ashwell's charming cottage in the hipster beach city of Venice have been wandering around blogland. But I want to be one of those who keeps an album of her lovely homes that inspires the shabby chic side of me.

The house is a classic cottage with white picket fence that we all love and a bonus artist's studio overlooking the garden. The fact that Rachel lives there makes it more precious and invaluable. But for all its beauty, it might as well be my dream home.

The World of Shabby Chic: The Bedroom

Through the years I have taken baby steps in transforming my bedroom into shabby chic. To start, I dressed up my bed into pure cotton beddings by Shabby Chic {the brand} that are available at Target Store.

But of course there is always room for more inspirations....
