A Friend Indeed

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." Anais Nin

After months of not seeing each other, my friend, Michelle, and I finally met over a tall vanilla bean and green tea latte at Starbucks in my beloved Temecula Old Town. So many things to catch up on- family, work, and our passion for vintage treasures. She had asked me to help her re-arrange her stuff at Country Porch where she has a dealer space. The pleasure is all mine.
Our friendship stemmed from two years ago when we were both dealers at Le Chateau, a vintage shop in Murrieta. Our mutual admiration for each other's work quickly sparked the friendship. She loved the vintage cabinet I painted yellow and I was amazed by her resourcefulness (you got this for free?!!). After looking through her stuff, I found out how much more beautifully she can paint furniture. This lady has the skill of a handyman and the talent of a brush painter. But she always insists that she loves my stuff.
But what was more wonderful is the fact that we a
re sisters in the Lord. She is also a Christian so we can relate to each other in a spiritual sense. She has been such a blessing!.........

I'm so glad to visit the shop again- it feels almost like home. Another talented dealer has taken over my space by the front window and it looks charming. We met our friends, Carol, who is the manager of the shop, and Debbie, who always have a lot of good stuff to display.
Needless to say...it has been such a wonderful day.

My dear friend Michelle in a lovely pose...but the purple feathers have to go.

Here with Carol, who had always helped me with maintaining my space, including frequent vacuuming of paint chips from my peely furniture. Here's Michelle rummaging through her hidden treasures.

  1. I suddenly became nostalgic reading this. I remember this place well, even Carol. : ) It's wonderful to see your old corner in this shop. I can't wait to see what unfolds in your future. Perhaps another shop awaits for you... That's an exciting thought isn't it?
