Shopping Matters

I've done a little shopping for my creative space and have found a lot of pretty prints for spring. I don't always go antiquing and so,  for instant gratification, the family group of companies, HomeGoods, TJMaxx, and Marshalls become my destination- and you know why. And of course, Target store is a must visit for all necessities of life and more.

Liberty of London  is one of the newer brands at Target store. Pretty floral prints in spring colors will not slip my attention. They've covered just about every department - from clothes, to office supplies, dinnerware, beddings- did I see them all?

Liberty of London-binder, clipboard, and folders

Notecards from TJMaxx- if I had my last dollar in my wallet, I would buy notecards. Just can't resist pretty prints: $4.99.

HomeGoods- decorative banner: $7.99

HomeGoods: Not quite for the office but can't pass on this lovely print. Great as a travel laundry bag: $6.99.

Creative Room Inspiration

I finally found the time and energy to transform our loft into my very own creative room {meaning no boys allowed}. The mid-size neglected space has served as the kid's study room, second living room, and finally left as a storage place. I have found a lot of small furniture pieces and accessories in the garage and around the house to put together- all in the shabby chic style.
For the meantime, I have been looking for inspirations and these are the ones I adore.

I love the color combination of pink and bluish-aqua especially on the beautiful wallpaper not to mention how creatively this project was done- closet transformed into a work space!

Again I love the wallpaper colors set as background for the shelves. Everything simply looks chic.

Nothing inspires me more than cottage wire baskets and setting them up in a row for storage is just lovely. Informal arrangements of photos, ribbons, and notions are also very appealing to me. And of course, vintage furniture and cubbies are almost a must to create that " cottagey-vintagey" feeling.

On My Birthday

On my 53rd Birthday: "....I don't think our goal is to look younger; I think it's to look as good as we can, given our age and our experiences...the real key is understanding who you are in midlife and going with it." - by Lesley Jane Seymour- MORE Magazine

I'm so glad my brother kept this picture of me taken when I was 19 at our family home in the Philippines. This is my earliest recollection of decorating done during Christmas. Let's see...I must have wrapped plastic balls in polka dot gift wrap, added some pine cones,   inserted lollipops around the edges, and set them on my Mom's precious glass bowl. Decorating was an "activity" I did then but now has become my lifestyle.

Happy Easter

Jesus was talking to Martha once about the resurrection. He told her that he was the resurrection and the life, and that through belief in him no one would truly die. Mary told him that she believed in him.

May the truth and joy of Easter fill your hearts with peace and hope!
